It is designed to help highland vegetable farmers and traders in the Cordillera and Nueva Vizcaya regions of the Philippines monitor real-time crop prices, report market data, and stay informed about agricultural conditions.

How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account and authenticate your device.
- To display aggregated crop price summaries on the market feed.
- To show price reports and posts from your area and nearby markets.
- To moderate content and prevent spam or misleading price data.
- To send in-app notifications about market price alerts and advisories.
- To improve the accuracy and reliability of the price database over time.
- To generate anonymous statistical summaries (harvest volumes, pest alerts) shown in the app.
We do not use your data for advertising profiling, resale, or any commercial purpose unrelated to the app.
Location Data
Binnadang requests access to your device's GPS location to provide localised crop price information and to attach an approximate location to your price reports and posts, helping other farmers in your area.
Location is collected only while you are using the app. We do not track your location in the background. You can deny location permission at any time in your device settings; the app will still work, but location-based features will be limited.
Data Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share data only in these circumstances:
- Within the app: Your name is shown alongside your price reports and social posts visible to other Binnadang users.
- Administrators: Authorised administrators of the Binnadang platform may view reports, user accounts, and flagged content to moderate the platform.
- Legal requirements: If required by Philippine law or a valid government order, we may disclose data to authorities.
- Service providers: We use hosting infrastructure (XAMPP/cPanel-based server) to operate the API. Your data is stored on servers operated by Engineering Portal and is not shared with third-party analytics companies.
Advertisements
The Binnadang app displays ads through Google AdMob. Google AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve ads. This data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out of personalised ads in your device settings under Google > Ads.
Data Retention
- Your account and profile data are retained for as long as your account is active.
- Price reports and feed posts are retained to maintain the historical price database.
- Uploaded images are automatically deleted after 365 days.
- When you delete your account, your name, phone number, device records, posts, and price reports are permanently removed from our database.
Security
We protect your data with the following measures:
- All API communication uses HTTPS (TLS encryption in transit).
- Authentication tokens are time-limited (90 days) and revoked on logout.
- Each session is tied to a specific device ID.
- Admin access is restricted by role-based permissions and requires a separate authenticated token.
- Phone numbers and names are validated and stored without passwords — login is device-based, reducing credential theft risk.
No system is perfectly secure. If you suspect unauthorised access to your account, please contact us immediately.
Children's Privacy
Binnadang is intended for farmers, traders, and agricultural workers who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that a minor has provided personal data, we will promptly delete it.
Your Rights
As a user, you have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correction: Update your name or phone number through the app's profile settings.
- Deletion: Delete your account at any time from the Account section in the app. All associated data is permanently removed.
- Withdrawal of consent: Revoke location permission via your device settings at any time.
